EASM 20th Anniversary Football Match: EASM All Stars v EASM Denmark

To celebrate 20 years of the European Association for Sport Management, a special football match will take place on Wednesday 19^th September in Aalborg, Denmark. The EASM All Stars captained by the President of EASM (Mike Urdangarin) will compete against the EASM Denmark Team captained by Per Justesen (Chair of the 20^th EASM Conference).

If you would like to participate in the game, you must be registered as an attendee of the 20^th Conference. III Congreso de la Asociación Latinoamericana de Gerencia Deportiva (ALGEDE)

La Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira a través de la Facultad Ciencias de la Salud será sede del III Congreso de la Asociación Latinoamericana de Gerencia Deportiva (ALGEDE), el cual se celebrará en la ciudad de Pereira, capital del departamento de Risaralda (Colombia) en las instalaciones del Teatro Municipal Santiago Londoño Londoño, los días 28, 29 y 30 de Marzo de 2013. El III encuentro de ALGEDE pretende generar un espacio que contribuya al análisis, discusión y difusión del conocimiento acerca de los modelos y estrategias gerenciales en organizaciones deportivas, donde se tendrá la oportunidad de aprendere intercambiar experiencias y conocimientos con ponentes internacionales.

Experience Play the Game at EASM 2012

Prominent keynote speakers from the international world of sport and a long line of special Play the Game symposia will give spectators a taste of Play the Game as an integral part of EASM 2012 in Aalborg, Denmark, on 18-21 September.

A number of the themes that are typically addressed by Play the Game’s international network will enjoy a special focus at the sport management conference EASM 2012 in a separate line of Play the Game symposia.

As co-organisers of EASM 2012, Play the Game and the Danish Institute for Sports Studies have put together a special programme with a series of symposia focusing on the greatest challenges for world sports, along with a long line of distinguished keynote speakers from the world of international sport.

5th International Sport Business Symposium

The Birkbeck Sport Business Centre in London will host the 5th International Sport Business Symposium on the 7th of August 2012. The symposium will focus on managerial aspects of organizing the Olympic Games.

FIFA’s top reformers discuss their key proposals at EASM 2012 conference

The former president of the German Football Association, Theo Zwanziger, and head of FIFA’s Independent Governance Committee, Mark Pieth, are among the keynote speakers at the EASM conference in Aalborg, Denmark, taking place on 18-21 September.

For the first time, FIFA’s top reformers will together meet a broad international audience in an open debate about the on-going reform processes of the scandal-ridden organisation. The FIFA reforms are meant to improve the organisation’s governance and to repair the image of football’s world governing body after widespread corruption scandals in recent years.

Professor Chelladurai joins Troy University

Please note that Professor Packianathan “Chella” Chelladurai has retired from The Ohio State University as of May 31, 2012 and has joined the Troy University in Alabama, U.S.A. which offers on line bachelors and master’s degree programs in several subjects including sport management. A taste of Play the Game at EASM 2012

In a series of parallel sessions, Play the Game will take a direct approach to sensitive political topics in sport.

Will the reform processes started by FIFA against its own corruption and by the IOC against match fixing ever be efficient?

This is one of the hot sports political questions to be addressed when Play the Game gathers a number of distinguished experts and practitioners for a series of six symposia during the EASM 2012-conference in Aalborg, Denmark on 18th-21st September. The keywords for the symposia are anti-corruption, governance systems, mega-events, sports participation, sports media, and life conditions for professional athletes.
