At the Department of Sports Sciences, Malmö University, a full-time, tenured position as senior lecturer in Sport Management, specifically marketing, branding, and sponsoring, to be filled as soon as possible. This is the first position at the department that is exclusively dedicated to the study of sports economics. We are looking for a highly qualified researcher and educational professional to fill this position and develop this particular field of study within the multi-disciplinary environment of our department.

University College of Northern Denmark will host the annual conference of the European Association for Sport Management (EASM) in Aalborg, Denmark, on 18-21 September 2012 in partnership with Danish Institute for Sports Studies/Play the Game.

'Sport between business and civil society' is the overall theme of the 20th EASM Conference in Aalborg, Denmark, on 18-21 September 2012. It is the first time ever that the European Association for Sport Management (EASM) is holding its annual conference in Denmark, where the rapidly growing sport management environment is looking forward to sharing inspiration, knowledge and research with delegates from all over Europe and beyond. Almost 500 academics, professionals and sports leaders will meet in one of Denmark’s most attractive and lively cities to share the best and latest in the field of sport management. The conference is divided into a professional programme and a master student seminar.

April 26, Sports Fraud Roundtable Seminar

Asser International Sports Law Centre (ISLC) is organising a roundtable seminar to focus on the issue of sports fraud. This is a subject that continues to gain attention not only in the local news but also within the European Union and elsewhere in the world. It is a problem that threatens the integrity of sports and one for which limited solutions exist. Asser ISLC will engage key speakers and participants in the sports law community to examine this issue and discuss the approaches being taken to develop a solution.

EASM 2012 – extended deadline for abstracts/papers

By 10th April a total number of 262 abstracts had already been submitted to the EASM 2012 conference in Aalborg, Denmark on the 18-21 September 2012. Following the great demand, the organisers have decided to keep the option to submit an abstract/paper open until 16 April 2012. EASM cordially invites you and your colleagues/peers to submit a scientific or practical abstract/paper or poster to be considered for presentation at the conference. Young researchers are invited to submit a scientific paper for the New Researchers Award (NRA). Completed research or research in progress is welcomed.

The new submission deadline will be 16 April 2012

PhD seminar in Denmark the 16th and 17th of September

On September 16 and 17, the University of Southern Denmark will organize an international PhD seminar entitled “Sport between business, politics and mass media”. The target group is young sport management researchers. The seminar will take place prior to the 20th EASM conference in Aalborg, Denmark. It will offer a good opportunity to prolong the week in order to create networks with other young scholars and receive some exclusive feedback from outstanding senior scholars.
